At an emergency Board meeting on March 24, 2005, the Nevada State Board of Medical 
Examiners summarily suspended the medical license of Tarek Greiss, M.D. A Complaint 
was filed alleging the doctor violated NRS 630.306(1), for being unable to practice medicine
with reasonable skill and safety because of illness, a mental or physical condition, or the 
use of alcohol, drugs, narcotics or any other substance; the Complaint also alleges the 
doctor violated NRS 630.306(10), for being habitually dependant on controlled substances 
and/or alcohol; and the Complaint alleges the doctor violated NRS 630.3065, for allegedly 
willfully failing to comply with the Board's condition on licensure, to-wit: that he participate
in the diversion program, and that any continued medical practice during pendency of time
necessary for a hearing on the Complaint would endanger the health, safety and welfare of 
the public in the state of Nevada.

 

DECEMBER 2, 2005

The Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners found Dr. Greiss guilty of one count of inability to practice medicine with reasonable skill and safety because of an illness, a mental or physical condition, or the use of alcohol, drugs, narcotics, or any other substance, a violation of NRS 630.306(1); one count of being habitually dependent on controlled substances and/or alcohol, a violation of NRS 630.306(10); and one count of willfully failing to comply with a condition for licensure imposed by the Board, a violation of NRS 630.3065.  Dr. Greiss' license was revoked, and he was ordered to pay  $2,830.65 for administrative costs, due within 90 days of the Board's order.
